The role at a glance…

Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Development, we are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager who enjoys prospecting for new business opportunities to join the Sales Team. The successful applicant will take on the responsibility of converting new business across Raceday Hospitality and Events by ATC (non-raceday event business). This position is best suited to a relationship driven sales professional who enjoys hunting and converting new business. This role is primarily focused on driving and converting new business although some account management of accounts will be required.

This is a business development role with strong KPI around new business opportunities across all ATC racecourses, venues and restaurants.

More specifically the role will:

  • Proactively source and convert new business for Events by ATC and Raceday Hospitality
  • Achieve a set number of; weekly sales appointments, event proposal and conversions
  • Grow existing client portfolios by maintaining regular contact and building on relationships
  • Provide excellent customer service – liaise with prospective clients, generate proposals and/or quotes, conduct client site inspections
  • Report on sales activities weekly
  • Conduct financial analysis pre and post event evaluation – collaborate with senior management on continuous improvement

What we are looking for…

  • Previous experience in a proactive business development role – proven sales success is a must!!
  • Demonstrated experience in sales conversion by proactively hunting for commercial venues within the hospitality, events, entertainment tourism and/or leisure
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and a desire to close sales opportunities,
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, hospitality/leisure, marketing and/or communications is desirable but not essential
